Kaywana Hall is a luxury bed & breakfast situated in Kingswear, just across the estuary from Dartmouth. The original 1960’s house was recently demolished and rebuilt in a modern contemporary style by a local architect Stan Bolt. The house sits in its own twelve acres of woodland and is a peaceful oasis away from the bustle of Dartmouth and the river; however it is a short walk to the ferries for Dartmouth.
Tucked away at the end of a private drive and set amongst twelve acres of woodland, owner Tony Pithers decided to compliment the stunning building with Wood Log Fired boiler, to act as lead boiler with the LPG becoming a complete back up through periods of when the property was not in use.
What we did
Working closely with installers, architects and of course our client, Strebel assisted in the design & supply of a Strebel Turbotec 50 Log Wood Gasifying boiler, with an SU SP-1 Pressurisation Unit, LA-PS/F Buffer Vessel and full system control; along with a new wall mounted Strebel S-HQ Gas Condensing boiler.
Tony Pithers of Kaywana Hall was extremely pleased with the work carried out:
“Strebel has been a great company to work with. After installation of the TT log wood gasifying boiler there were unlimited visits to hold our hands and give us guidance; however the system is really easy to use. As for the savings – these have been tremendous. Although we have a gas back up boiler we hardly use it, except when we are away on holiday. Resulting in case bills of only £200-£300. The heat produced is something else, we joke we could probably heat our entire village!”
With a cosy warm welcome with excellent energy efficiency credentials; Six years on and Kaywana Hall Bed and Breakfast is the perfect retreat for guests who want peace and tranquillity and still be close enough to the popular Devon town of Dartmouth.
